This painting represents greed, obsession, corruption, and mind control.
For eons cultures have risen and fallen. So is the cycle when we grow accustomed to our wants, and cannot seperate them from our needs. Pretty things are dangled before us to keep us content and distracted. in our fake detached lives we become numb and distracted from what is the real world. resources are drained the world is poisoned, all in the name of power, and greed. Those who rise against this corruption are said to stand in the way of "progress". The destructiveness of man's greed has shown rise and fall to many cultures. This is our past, and so it shall be our future.
As we stand at the edge of the cliff once again, will we have the foresight to not step over. Can we see through the deception and vanquish our own selfishness. Will we see that true happiness comes from the love we share for each other, and not from consuming more objects than our neighbors. Do we have a chance?
